The beach is suitable for families with kids and is a nice landing place for paddlers. The forest in the island’s interior has berries and mushrooms.
Making a fire is permitted only at marked campfire sites, and only when a wildfire warning is not in place. When a warning is in place, no fires are permitted.

Destination information
Note! The island’s services are being renovated. There will be two new campfire sites with benches, one to replace the current campfire site near the jetty and another near the northern end of the island. There will also be a new woodshed at the site of the current cooking shelter. The new services should be available for use in June 2024.
Stora Fagerö is close to a waterway and only 6 kilometres from Inkoo harbour. The best boat landing place in Stora Fagerö is on the west side of the area where there are a jetty and mooring buoys. The island is a perfect destination for paddlers –– landing is easy due to the sandy beach, and there are plenty of tent spots and good services.
Accessibility
Strora Fagerö is not an unobstructed destination due to the soft sand on the beach. Further from the shoreline there are broad, flat, and accessible tracks. For example, the distance from the jetty to the cooking shelter is short and the route is flat apart from a single step.
Additional information
The island is owned by the church and Uuvi’s recreation area has a long-term lease agreement. There is also a church summer camp in Stora Fagerö.
