Mikael Avellan
Field Manager: Matters related to area maintenance

Mikael is a civil engineer, and his responsibilities at Uuvi include area maintenance and upkeep as well as building and terrain work. It is important to Mikael to build sustainable and functional structures for recreational services. When he is not busy with his building work, Mikael is probably out hunting, doing woodwork or pottering around in his microbrewery.
Juuso Hämäläinen
Planner: Matters related to nature management

Juuso is a forester by training (MSc in Agriculture and Forestry). At Uuvi, Juuso works with nature management. He also deals with issues on hunting and fishing, tree trunks that have fallen on tracks etc. It is important to Juuso that his work enhances biodiversity at Uuvi’s areas. He is a whiz at sailing and likes all kinds of activities connected to forests.
Kaisa Mikkola
Specialist planner: Ollisaari Outdoor Recreation Area development

Kaisa has a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (Master of Arts). At Uuvi she is responsible for the Ollisaari project in addition to designing trails and facilities and helping with communications. Kaisa finds it very meaningful to encourage and support people to plan their first ever hiking or camping trip. She loves climbing and long distance hiking and lives part time in a bright green campervan.
Sini Veuro
Specialist planner: Matters related to communication

Sini is an environmental economist (MSc in Agriculture and Forestry). She is responsible for Uuvi’s digital content and educational communication as well as visitor monitoring and research related topics. Sini believes it is important to promote sustainable outdoor culture. In the summer, she enjoys finding seashells with her children, and in the winter, she likes to go on leisurely cross-country skiing trips.
Silva Sallamaa
Specialist planner: Matters related to development

Silva is a biologist (MA), and at Uuvi, she is responsible for development related things, such as planning, development projects and coordinating regional cooperation. Promoting accessibility at Uuvi’s areas is close to Silva’s heart. Silva is a passionate cyclist and a mushroom forager, and she relaxes whilst paddle boarding or strumming her ukulele.
Tapio Lepikkö
Executive Director: General management, permit issues, area management

Tapio has a master’s degree in outdoor studies from Norway. At Uuvi, he works with interest group cooperation and area planning and development in addition to attending to organisational management. Tapio is interested in promoting the conditions for outdoor activities and nature adventures and developing visitor experiences at Uuvi’s areas. He relaxes whilst taking part in outdoor sports and on nature excursions with his family and finds inspiration in these activities.
