Meiko’s nature reserve areas are an extensive and diverse wilderness gem right by the Greater Helsinki Region. The largest lake in the area with its shimmering clear waters is the rugged Lake Meiko and many trail runners have fallen in love with the path that winds around the lake. Along the routes, the smaller ponds and forest landscapes offer a pleasantly varied landscape to explorers. In the early summer, the air is filled with the calls of cuckoos and loons; earlier in the spring, you may hear the cackling of the black grouse on the bogs.
Area maintainer: Kirkkonummi municipality
Making a fire is permitted only in the marked campfire sites. When a forest and grass fire warning is in place, making a fire is completely forbidden.

Dogs and other pets must be kept on a leash.
