Destination information

Läntinen Neitsysaari is located near Vuosaari and is easy to reach by paddling or with a rowing boat. In the summer (June-August), there is also a connection boat service to Western Neitsytsaari. In winters if the ice conditions are good, you can get to Western Neitsytsaari by walking or skiing.

The island has a cooking shelter and a dry toilet, as well as docks for kayakers and boaters. The connecting boat stops on the north side of the pier from 1 June to 31 August, so mooring to the pier must be done either on the south side or at the end of the pier. In addition, mooring rings are available for boaters on the southwest side of the island. Paddlers can also land on small sandy beaches on either side of the island. The villa on the island, built in the 1920s, is not used by hikers.

The self-service sauna is closed for the season and will be open in spring again.

There are several birds nest on the island. Give them nesting peace, i.e. you pass nests and small chicks calmly from a sufficient distance.

Accessibility

There are no accessible services on the island. The terrain is uneven and paths small.

Additional information

The neighboring East Neitsytsaari is privately owned, and the islets next to it are a nature reserve. Right next to Western Neitsytsaari is also Kalliosaari, which is suitable for outdoor recreation and camping.

The Western Neitsytsaari is nice destination for paddling trip, and there is also a kayak rental company near the island that organizes kayaking trips.
