Destination information
Kaunissaari is two kilometres long and 800 metres wide. The island’s flora and fauna are versatile, and you can find out more about it on the island’s nature trail.
Kaunissaari’s sheltered harbour is located in the eastern part of the island and offers protection whatever the weather. From mid-May to mid-September, there is a ferry service to the island from Vuosaari. The journey takes approximately 50 to 60 minutes.
The island has cottages and saunas to rent.
Kaunissaari is a popular camping destination, and it is important to take other campers into consideration. Camping is not permitted in Saunaniemi or closer than 100 m to a property. Camping is subject to a fee.
