Visitors can land their boats beneath the overlooking cliff. There is also a suitable landing point on the south-east side of the recreation area. There are no mooring rings, buoys or other services in Hankelö.

Visitors to Hankelö can also easily visit the neighbouring Gölisnäs recreation area and access all the services and amenities it has to offer. Gölisnäs is on the northern side of Hankelö. The Uuvi recreation area of Andö is a little further south and is suitable for more adventurous boaters.
